I need some input on my next purchase which could be as soon as today.

It's between the Beretta 87 Cheetah and the Firestorm .22. I plan on suppressing it down the road and am aware that I can do it on the 87 but not as certain on the Firestorm. The cost difference is considerable. Is the 87 that much better.
Any opinions from owners would be greatly appreciated.

I have a Firestorm and an older Bersa 23 in nickel. Both are excellent pistols for the money but I haven't tried the Beretta. I have several other Beretta pistols and my opinion of them is very high. If money is not a huge object, go with the Beretta since they have a class to them that few other pistols share. If you are going to suppress it, might as well go with the more expensive gun since the work you have done is going to cost more than the gun in the end. Might as well have an expensive gun with expensive work done to it.

If you wanted to keep it stock for a while, I can tell you that the bersa is a surprisingly accurate and reliable little pistol that won't dissapoint. If you can find them, they are lots of fun. My Bersa 23 is the only pistol that I take to the range every time. It is small enough to pack along if I am going to shoot it or not.

Just ordered the Beretta. I'll post a review when it gets in.
Time to start saving my pennies to get the extended barrel, threading, Tax stamp and suppressor.
I looked and looked and it came down to the Firestorm and the Beretta for a small lightweight .22 to throw in the backpack. The Beretta just exudes the old world craftsmanship like my old S&W 41.
I just can't get myself to even think about those P22's and Sig Mosquitos with the zinc alloy slide and cheap construction sexy looking though. One gun store I went to told me the alloy slide on the p22 and Mosquito is made of the same alloy SIG makes there fullsize guns from. Maybe thats why I got rid of my 226 ;) It's hard to find good help these days.
