I have a 870 Express 20ga with a 21 inch vent rib barrel and I was wondering if and how I can change the bead sight to a light pipe or something else easier to see.

By the looks of it, it seems that they bead is screwed in, but I do not want to try and remove it unless I know for sure.

Other than removing the bead and gluing a new sight on, do I have any other options?

Several outfits make a light bar that will clip to a vent rib barrel. They block the bead so you can not see it (with the gun mounted) and do not require that you remove the bead at all.
I shoot with a guy who has one of these.

edited to add.

Here is one from Brownells that is magnetic. You need to measure your vent rib width. Click me to see

Beware, some of Remington's beads are pressed in and will not unscrew, but may break off. It can be a small gunsmithing fix to repair one that has been boogered up.

Since the last thing I want is something bright on the end of my barrel to distract me from my target, I shy away from everything but a plain bead or a Bradley white front bead. Remember with a shotgun all the bead is is a reference point, you should be focused on the target or bird. Defensive guns or slug guns are a different matter all together.
