870 front sight question

Quick question- How do I remove the front bead from the barrel of my (early '90s vintage) 870 Express? (I'd like to replace it with a fiber optic unit.)

Thanks, Chris. I tried turning it out (and turning and turning), but it I don't seem to be making any progress. I've prabably gone a dozen or more revolutions counterclockwise and it seems to be the same as when I started. Any tips or tricks?

Depending on whether you have a Wingmaster or Express, the bead may be pressed in.

Wingmaster's were screwed in, Express guns were pressed in.

To remove turn AND pull it out.
To install a new sight, you'll need to thread the hole so the new sight can be screwed in.

If the bead breaks off, (Which they often do) you'll have to have the shank drilled out before you can thread the hole.
