My friend has this 12ga wingmaster(not an express) he bought new about 15 years ago. It will shoot but sometimes the shell casing swell so that he has to beat the gun on the bottom of the goose pit to get it to eject the spent shell. it is very frustrating. the chamber has some minor pitting.

A few years ago i asked what to do and i believe it was the Virginian who recommended that i hone the chamber with a brake cylinder hone. I did that and the gun appeared repaired . Now the gun has the same problem it is not rusty or scored in the chamber.

I suspect that the chamber is out of specification so badly that this is a factory defect.

What do you think fellas? should i send it in to REM and see what they come up with. He uses several brands of premium ammo and it jams intermittently with all of the ammo.

he oils it regularly but the problem recurrs at the most inopportune time.

I would polish the chamber.

A brake cylinder hone leaves behind a multitude of tiny cross-hatch scratches so a piston seal rubber can get a good grip and seal.

But you want your chamber shiny bright so there is no friction on the shell.

I would suggest you get a drill and a 1/2" dowel rod, and some 400 & 600 grit black wet or dry emery paper, and a sheet of red crocus cloth.

Slot the end of the dowel so you can slip flaps of paper in it and chuck it in the hand drill.
Then go after the chamber with progressively finer grit paper & oil until it shines like a diamond in a goats, ehhhhhh!
You get the picture.
