so toady i was working at the local gun shop, organizing in the back room, when i stumbled upon a ammo can full of boxes of 5 round clips of a large cartidge. nobody knowing what it was, my boss sent a clip home with me for research, and they turned out to be 8x56R. of the rounds on the clip, 1 is marked at the 12 oclock VIII, the 9 marked 19 and the 3 marked 38 for the date 1938, and at the 6 its marked with the nazi eagle, another was marked at the 12 with a L overlapping an M, * at the 3 and 9, and 42 at the 6, another has what looks like a A overlapped with H at the 12, * at the 3 and 9, and 32 at the 6, and the last round (its only got 4, not a full clip) is the same but marked 35 at the 6. any comments or idea what these are worth?

At the last gun show I attended, I bought several boxes (with 15 rds per box, IIRC... can't go searching for them now to verify that, though) for $4 per box. Four bucks a box is the cheapest I've seen, so I bought all the vendor had. I've seen it usually go for $7 to $10 per box. Some other sellers were asking for $20 per box... I let them keep it.

from the little bit iv found through research, the L over M is hungarian, and its supposed to be pretty rare....

Ammo's expensive and the clips too. Prices vary but it's definitely in demand and nowhere is it cheap.
