Just saw on the news that a young girl was accosted by a man to get in his truck. It happened on the street directly behind my house! This is very scary news as i live directly across the street from a park where children are all the time! The girl ran home and thankfully was not hurt.

You can garuntee i am going to be on the look out for a Black Ford F150 with tan seats hanging around the park!

Unless that's a stolen truck, critters like him wind up in jail and then all the inmates & convicts give generous payback. Most criminals hate child molestors. They're related to kids either as parents, uncles, big brothers or cousins and don't like to see kids get hurt. So, when the molestor gets to jail, it's protective custody or a cut throat.

I want to know something. Where did this 9 y/o girl get her awareness? Did the public schools get it right? I wonder if she had been through any safety programs. She is safe. Good result.

This is the same story as in my "child enticement" thread. I don't think that "accosted" is any more accurate than "enticement" based on the story her mother told on the TV news about what actually happened. Still, it's really scary how much more often this seems to be occuring in the Cincinnati area. Pervs as thick as cicadas.

Not just Cincinnati. They're everywhere.

Every week, our local paper carries that week's new sex offender convict listing; typically, there's about 8 to 10. That's several hundred a year, every year.

At my daughter's school this year, there were four incidents of a male trying to lure kids into his car. All kids did the right thing, didn't go near the car, ran away and told an adult. They also had two difference incidents of someone in a van taking pictures of the kids on the playground, one at my daughter's school another at a nearby school. Scary stuff! Talk to your kids and talk to them often!

There has been a bunch of incidents like this in the Indy news. I wonder what the heck is going on here  Reports like this used to be relatively rare it seems. But now I hear them almost weekly.

The media simply reports this kind of incident more often. In reality, less kids are abducted nowadays than 50 years ago.

Good ol' scarefactor media.:fire:

think "accosted" could be a good word....

I don't think that "accosted" is any more accurate than "enticement" ---Henery Bowman

Accost:

Approach
Stop
waylay
Confront
Button Hole
detain

I think "accosted" could be a good word for what happened.

Respectfully,
