Hey guys would a burris scope take the recoil of a 91/30 in a scout configuration? would it hold zero?

Which model? As a rule, fixed powers are simpler, and thus more robust (just like the rifle :) ).
Most modern pistol scopes would be able to take the recoil. Aligning the rings and lapping them is a Good Idea (TM) for any scope, but particularly for this application. You want a consistent, solid purchase between the rings and the scope.
Getting a scope from a company with a good customer service reputation is most important in this, because while you may get a BSA that you can bequeath to your great grandkids, you might get a Leupold that rotates its reticle three shots into sighting it in.
BSA was pretty OK when we had to return a scope for service. I have heard Leupold is excellent, but of course you pay for it. Haven't heard anything about Burris.

One thing I would definitely do is go to MidwayUSA.com and look up the specific model (if they carry it) and see if there is a review for it. I've found that feature very useful.
