schmeky, have you tried factory ball ammo in different gr weight? seating depth could effect the reliability of your guns. Just a thought

22h2,

Both my 9mm 1911's feed with no problems. Only one has given me extraction problems, which has nothing to do with bullet weight and OAL.

It seems to me, with the rising cost of ammo, it's time for someone to offer a good quality 9mm 1911 at a reasonable price. I had read on the 1911 Forum Rock Island Armory was going to offer such a pistol this summer, but it's only a rumor. I think a $400-$500, reliable 9mm/1911 would sell very well.

I have found that jams during ejection was linked to the tuning of the ejector or extractor and recoil springs on some occasions. anyway good luck with your projects

I had a Springfield 9mm 1911 that was nothing but trouble. I don't think I made it through many mag's without at least one feed failure.
The trouble appeared to be nothing more than a very rough frame causing sticky/slow slide return.

It did have terrific accuracy and was the softest shooting 9mm I ever wrapped my hands around.

I traded it to someone who could give it the attention it needed.

Thinking about a LB PII in .38 Super as a replacement. (handloader)
