I know I am going to open a debate here on 9MM vs. all other ammo for stopping power but I am curious to know if anyone has any, or has heard of any, real world experience with the newer 9mm loads. I carry Corbon 115 now. I have also shot Speer GD 115 and Winchester 115 SilverTip. Anything on the new 124 and 127 Winchesters, etc.....???

As a secondary thing thanks to all who responded to my Smith & Wesson M&P question, What a pistol!!!

If you do a search one of the members has a web site with lots of ballistic gelatin testing on various bullets. That might be what you're looking for.

Its hard too say what might work best for you~! Its a given, NO
handgun caliber is a SURE FIRE one shot stop, each and every time~!
NONE. There are far too many variables that cloud the picture, and will
not allow me to make this choice. I've had real good luck with the 124
grain Federal Hydra-Shok JHP's; but that don't mean they will work each
and every time~!:scrutiny: :uhoh: ;)

There is a site http://www.stoppingpower.net/ that has forums and lots of info on bullet performance. The Corbon DPX sounds like quite a round if you can afford $1 a shot. I'd like to use it but can't afford to spend $200 on "practice ammo" right now.
To be honest I think among the major defense ammo manufacturers you probably aren't going to find a whole lot of difference in performance. Shot placement will affect the outcome WAY more than the brand of ammo if you stick with factory loaded HP.

I carried the Speer Gold Dot 147 grain in a Glock 19 as my last duty weapon. I used it twice and both times it did the job with one shot.

There are a lot of good 9mm ammo choices in the market right now. Speer Gold dot, Saber, Corbon, Ranger, Horanday, Black Hills, and a few more that I can not think of right now. I tested at least 100 rounds of each in my PCR. It was close between the Gold Dot and Hornaday ammo with which performed best in my gun. In the end the PCR loved the Gold Dot...so that is what I use in it. My P226 likes Ranger the best in terms of performance. I would suggest some testing for you and your gun and go with which works best.
