I picked up a YHM 9mm upper I'm having a barrel of fun with. Still has a surprising tendency for muzzle rise all things considered. Wondering if anyone has run across a decent muzzle brake for the 9mm rifle? Mine has a simple flash hider on it now, I believe it's a standard 1/2x28 thread.

I think 9mm barrels are 5/8-24 threads. I've seen A2 flash suppressors for 9mm, but I'm not sure about their effectiveness on a pistol caliber carbine.

Yea, not much gas to work with.

Agreed. There is no functional need for a muzzle brake on a 9mm, but I put an A2 flash hider on my JRC simply because the straight barrell looked funny. ;)

I've got a Smith brake on mine and notice little if any difference with or without. For that matter, anything I do notice might simply be the weight.

The thread should absolutely not be 1/2x28. Fear being a fella might spin on a device without sufficient exit diameter for the 9mm round.
