I received a lot of feedback and have done a bit of work since my first range visit with my new gun.

My targets have gone from this

to This at best

But I am still pulling at least 1 or 2 shots out of 16 rnd magazine low... and a few to the right..

I have dry fired (snap caps) a lot, and am getting a feel for my gun, but dry firing I do it perfectly, even at the range, but as soon as I snap in a mag and load and fire I catch myself jerking the gun down involuntarily....

Something that is compounding this issue is my trigger/hammer/sear camming back a little so making the trigger a little spongy, but I know for SURE that if I make a strong solid trigger pull with the tip of my finger that I hit in the 10circle everytime at 7 yards, its when I dont pull it smooth enough without moving my hand around that I get into trouble.

So I still need some more tips, or things I can practice... I know im jerking, and I know I need to work on my trigger pull, but dry firing I do it perfect, any ideas?

Fignertip? first knuckle of the finger? How do i pull my trigger without my hand wanting to get in on the action?

Thanks in advance.

Edit: Forgot to mention, 650 rounds through it so far.

Good progress. Well done! I just put 150 rounds through my CZ-75B yesterday. The accuracy still astounds me.

Only use your finger tip to pull the trigger, don't wrap your entire finger around the trigger. This will cause you to pull shots. Relax, its just a gun. Focus on the front sight not the target. The target should be a blur, but you can still see the 10 ring. Did I say relax? At first put the gun down between shots and take a deep breath. Don't anticpate the recoil. Put a snap cap somewhere in the mag and see what you do when it cycles to the snap cap.

Practice, repeat as necessary. If there is a good firearms trainer in your area an hour or two with him/her may be helpful. Target shooting is not defensive shooting, you may also want to take a few courses.

I eventually want to work up to competitions, as far as putting in a blank, Ive done that and learned a bit from that... I focus on the front sight, and i let the target blur, I tend to shoot with both eyes open but if im taking a really really slow and accurate shot i will defer to one eye sometimes

I think my main issue is getting through the distance weight of the pull without jerking in anticipation (IE mostly psychological)

When i just grab the gun and shoot is when I do best, when i try to be accurate i anticipate too much

Thanks for the tips!

Its like a golf swing. If you think too much, it will hurt you.

Anytime!

Already there :) thanks for the invite though, you and many others have answered a lot of my questions just from reading previous threads. Right now Im trying to get some gunsmithing questions answered, but the right answer might be, learn how to shoot the gun well, then consider fixing the "problems" :)

The only part that still bothers me is typing at work a few hours after 100+ trigger slaps
