I shot some 9mm rounds today with the 124gr bullets I bought from Missouri bullets with their new Hi-Tek 2 coating. The results IMO were very good!
All rounds were shot in a Glock G19.
Accuracy tests were shot off hand, unsupported, 15 yards from the target, best 3 rounds of 5 shot.
Velocity numbers were collected with a PACT Model 1 XP, 10 feet from the muzzle.
Winchester Brass - Win WSP primers - OAL 1.100"
4.0gr W231 - AV 1031 fps - 1.75" group.
4.4gr W231 - AV 1088 fps - 1.50" group.
5.7gr Longshot - AV 1201 fps - 3.00" group.
Winchester Brass - Win WSP primers - OAL 1.125"
4.0gr W231 - AV 1009 fps - 2.25" group.
4.4gr W231 - AV 1090 fps - 1.10" group.
5.7gr Longshot - AV 1180 fps - Not tested
From my tests it looks like the W231 load with a 1.125" OAL is the most accurate load in the Glock G19. Velocity is good too. I think that will be my standard load with those 124gr MBC coated bullet.
I shot the Longshot loads which are usually made with a 124gr FMJ bullet to see if the 18 BHN coated bullets could stand up to the pressure and velocity and they did. There was no leading or fouling in the barrel so the coating didn't fail and the bullets hit the target with perfectly round holes. (no key-holing)
If I left anything out please ask and I'll try to fill in the blanks...
Anyone who wants to add their range report with the same bullets to this thread is more than welcome to do so.
