So I don't own a gun for either of those two calibers. I do shoot a lot of 200 grain LSWC in my 45 auto. I've been reloading since the late '90s. I have never seen or heard of a lead semi-wad cutter for either of these two rounds. You see them for 38 special, 357 Magnum, 44 magnum, 45 Colt, 45 Auto, why not these two rounds? I just figure if you're target shooting or shooting paper, wouldn't you want to be able to cut clean holes with those two calibers as well as a 38 special or a 45 auto, etc ?

If your gun will feed them, you can use .358 .38 Spl SWCs. And, IIRC, I've seen some marked for 9MM.

I’ve used Lee 105gr SWC .358” sized to load in 9mm.
Likewise the 140gr SWC. Also the Lee 150gr SWC but it has to be loaded with the crimp groove exposed so it looks funky.

Because of the limited case capacity of the 9mm and feeding issues in a s/a, most SWC’s intended for a .38spl aren’t readily amenable to the 9mm.
Too much bullet behind/below the crimp grooves (which aren’t needed on the 9mm.

The 200gr SWC you’re using in the .45 was designed for it for paper punching targets.
Few now days use a 9mm for that purpose.
The availability of match grade jacketed hollow points in 9mm for little more than the cost of lead semi wadcutters renders them moot. (irrelevant).

Right now, the bullets are cheaper than the primers!
These are both capable of holding the x-ring of a NRA B-27 target at 50yds from a capable pistol.

My brain is still attempting to come to grips with that!

I have used the MBC SWCs, they cut nice clean holes in paper but MBCs Cones shot better for me.

Right now you can get JHPs from Rocky Mountain reloading for only a few $ more, and they
shot better for me than either of the MBC bullets. (which are good bullets)

The match winner profile from rmr met all my target requirements. The 115 is scooting and made good holes.

Yep, feeding is the main problem. Some Semi-autos won't feed anything except round nose bullets. I have 2, 45acps that can go through over 200 rounds per session flawlessly, but choke on the first 200 gr. LSWC they see. Same with 9mmm pistols, it depends on whether your particular pistol will feed SWCs freely...

All my 1911's will feed SWC without any problems. SWC generally require a different magazine lip profile over a RN. I'm shooting TC profile in my 357sig 1911.

I have a 38 Super 1911 that had an older barrel installed where the case head spaced on the rim. I loaded 38 cal 158 grain wadcutters that were very accurate and the empty cases landed at my feet. I rebarreled the gun with a new barrel that head spaced on the case mouth and the gun would no longer function with the 158 grain SWC bullets.

One of these days I’ll need to try different bullet sizing and different seating depth that will allow for trouble free feeding.

I’ve not experimented with various bullets in my 9 x 19 guns.

But, my Beretta M84 (380 ACP) would feed a Lee 105 grain semi-wadcutter with no issues. I have not tried them in other guns than the Model 84.

1911s generally feed any reasonable bullet (185 gr., 200 gr. SWC, and some will feed wdcutters). But my Ruger P90 will only feed TC, RNFP, LRN, FMJ any weight, etc. reliaby. My 1911 and my HP 4595 45 ACP will feed anything I can shove in the magazines with never needed any modifications...

I have had mixed results with lead in 9mm in general. Some early Glocks did not shoot well. My Sigs love RNL. I have never tried a SWC profile in 9mm I think that is interesting. My standard and only .45 ACP as been Magnus 200 SWC for decades. Both my Springfield’s eat them up.

All of my 9x19's except maybe my Glocks (see below) shoot lead round nose bullets reliably. They include a High Power, S&W M&P 1.0, 1911's, and HK P30SK.

I usually load lead RN 9mm bullets for my 9x19 ammunition but I forget if I have ever fired them in my Glock 17 or Glock 43. I just do not shoot the Glocks very much and may have only fired jacketed RN ammunition in them.
