hi there

I'm thinking of buying the 9mm para GOLDEN SABERS from Remington.

does any of you guys have experience with these
should I go with the 124 gr or the 147 gr:confused:
what's the price for a box of 50

I don't know wether these hollow-points are legal or not in Belgium?
if they aren't, the heck with it! than I'll just buy them in Holland or Germany.

I already found the price on the net: $ 7.40 for a box of 25, pretty expensive, but than again, this is not the kind of round you use for target-training or plinking

I think the 124gr Golden Sabres are arguably the best 9mm round you can buy. I also like the 124gr +p Gold Dots, which is what I carry on the rare occasions when I use a 9mm.

Here's a web page:

Good data there. The author doesn't like the GD, but the record it has earned show that it is an excellent round, which has served many well.

I've paid abt $10-12/25 for them. Get the more recent "Bonded" ones - less change of core-jacket separation than the old ones. I think they're a bit overpriced/rated and have gone entirely to 124+p Gold Dots, new manuf., from Ga Arms:

They have great stuff, excellent prices.

I've carried the 124gr +P for a couple of years, first in a G-19 and now a P-95DC.The golden sabres have always been real accurate for me and i like the lack of muzzle flash.I paid $7.50/25 online compared to 14-17 bucks in the local stores.

That's what I carry in my 9mm.

I picked 'em because they group well in my gun.

Later, I did some informal expansion testing, shooting them at wet phone books bound together. Expansion was good, even through 5 layers of denim. On the 6th layer of denim, they stopped expanding.

"Wound channels" from the expanded ones were pretty impressive. Penetration was good, too. Seems to me like a good bullet.

I'm using the 124gr +P Golden Sabers in my Kahr PM9. I agree the muzzle flash is low and they are acurate.

I found the "bonded GS" online for $8.80 for 25 rounds.

thanks for your kind responses gentlemen
I've checked, and they are ILLEGAL in Belgium :uhoh:
so maybe it isn't a smart thing to put golden sabers in my glock for home-defence. don't wanna shoot a burglar illegaly :D
I may buy a box or 2 in Holland just for the heck of it. may I :fire: in  for this!

That's what I use in my P-11 (124 gr) and I need some more. The place I got them from last time is out of stock can anyone post where they can get them for $7.50/25? Thanks.

thanks, still missing 1 though.... when I build up the cash I want a .308 bolt with a good scope, but living in the city I can't even shoot it at anything longer than 50 yards (in door range) at anyplace close to me, so it's tough to justify the $$... but one of these days... :)
