O.K. I came across on a good deal for 9mm Speer Gold Dot 115gr hollow point ammo. Is 115gr too light? I tend to buy 147gr for self defense and was worried the lighter 9mm loads might not have enough penetration. Thank you.
The gelatin tests on Youtube show its a good cartridge and bullet that provides penetration that conforms to the FBI standards with good expansion. What's not to like.
I bought a bit of ammunition from SGAmmo.com and had some good experiences with the service and product.
The stock varies but currently (as I write this post) you can get, for example, a box of 50 rounds of 9mm Luger Speer Gold Dot 115gr hollow point ammunition for 23.95. I also saw a 50 round box of .357 Sig 125 gr Speer Lawman TMJ ammo go for 21.95.
Shipping is at least 14.00 but if you don't pay sales tax and order around 150.00 or so, then that essentially cancels out the sales tax. If you don't want to order that much, you could always go in on it with a few people.
