Speer #13

9MM

115 Gr jacketed bullets

Unique

Start - 5.6 Grs for 1166 FPS

Max - 6.3 Grs for 1244 FPS

What load book do you have that doesn't have a Unique load for 115 Gr jacketed bullets in 9MM?

RCBS Cast Bullet Manual #1

9MM

115 Gr lead bullets

Unique

Start - 5.2 Grs for 1127 FPS

Max - 5.7 Grs for 1244 FPS (the same-go figure)

Got load books? ;)

Using a Barry's 115 gr round nose TMJ over 5.0 gr Unique with 1.150" COAL, I get right at 1150 FPS out of my 4" XD9. I've been using it as my standard range practice round for several years. For me, it functions flawlessly.

If it matters for reference, my "will cycle" load in a CZ-75B:

115gr Missouri LRN, 1.080" OAL, 4.6gr Unique. Same load at 1.100" OAL with 124 Dardas RN chambers in my CZ. In both instances MV as I recall was mild at around 1000fps or so, but it cycles fine. Any lower not so much particularly with the 115. Wife (and I) love the load as it's as accurate as about anything else inside 40 feet or so and you can reload the brass until the end of time LOL.

Incidentally using WSP or CCI 500's or Wolf SP's, all of which yield the same velocity more or less. The Wolfs are too hard for my 380 (LCP) loads, but never had one not go bang in my SA/DA pistols/revolvers.

My thoughts exactly - OP if you DON'T have a book, get yourself one or three and read them. This info is readily available online as well at each powder maker's site - and it's free. Not wanting to insult those who have posted, but it is always wise to double check free advice with mfg. documented data.

In general I agree with you. However, in this case the OP asked for LRN load data (as well as JHP). The Alliant website only lists Speer GDHP data. Lead data is not always available online.

If you're looking for a manual to 'extrapolate' lead bullet load data off of, with Unique amongst the in-particulars, pick up the Lyman load manual.

If they don't list a cast bullet 'close-enough' to the cast bullet you're using - pay attention to both shape and OAL - then you're using a really, really weird cast bullet from my experience.
