9mm versus .45?

I once shot a frog in the head 97 times with a 9mm. He jumped every time. then he died!:neener: :neener: :neener:

.45's are the guns of refined gentlemen and military officers

9mm's are for gangbangers

(I assume the point of this thread is poke the hornet's nest)

:neener:

My new bullet beats them all. I call it the 9mm S&W Magnum. Its a 500 case necked down to 9mm and shoots a 115grn bullet at 3 million FPS. It has a 5 meter kill radius.
I WANT ONE!!! GOTTAHAVEIT!
I heard the FiveseveN rounds will shoot through any US Navy ship and change it's trajectory to hit any child on the other side. Sarah Brady told me so it's gotta be true :p
Question of the day: Now that the Springfield XD .45 is out and can hold 13 +1 rounds of .45 ACP in a grip that people other than E.T. can hold, are the "stopping power vs. firepower" wars over?

Nah, the stun gun is the ultimate killer now. I read so many stories of people dying after being zapped from stun guns, who needs firearms?

Heck, our people in Iraq and Afghanistan should just ditch all the Abrams, AH64s, M16s, all that worthless stuff and grab the stunners!

I also beat you to the punch... went Friday afternon and shot both 9mm and 45acp. Can't we all just get along?

Apples & Oranges

What would you rather eat? What would you rather fire down your pipe of choice. Both are very useful rounds. One is less expensive, one leaves you in awe of its firepower and size in a readily manageable platform. I have only one .45, in a 1911 platform, but I also acquired a 9 mm in the same platform. Why? Because they are different, but also the same...

BTW, I have more 9s than 45s, but now I am building my revo collection. .44 Magnum!

I have a CCW for my laptop equiped with a built in screen projector. When I feel the least little bit threatened I boot it up and project a 12' by 20' JPEG of Rosie O'Donnel on the side of the nearest building. Give the perp an over whelming urge for a Big Mac and he leaves me alone. Bright sun light will cause some performance issues but other than that it works fine and as far as I know is legal even in California.

Mythbusters ought to line the barrels up and produce a mid-air collision filmed with a high speed camera. Wouldn't settle which one's a better manstopper, but at least it would show the result of a fair fight.

I already went to the range this morning and shot .22lr, .45 ACP & .44 Mag ...surprisingly no 9mm which is rare for me.

I like all my handgun calibers :)

I shook my fist when I saw this thread. And when I opened it, I shook my fist again because you tricked me!

:cuss: :cuss:

I just picked myself up a M18 Claymore directional fragmentation mine for CCW. Not only does it have a 16 meter danger zone in all directions, well beyond most SD ranges, to hit any and all potential assailants but it also has a 50m 'Kill Zone' in a 60-degree arc to the front! At only 3.5 lbs it fits easily into a small of the back, chest or IWB rig for ease of carry and concealment. Fast, reliable and it definitely goes "Bang!" after three pulls of the trigger for (at least) one assailant who won't be bugging anyone ever again.

That junkie punk making a grab for my wallet is going DOWN with this puppy!
Mark(psycho)Phipps( HAHAHA! )

I love it! This thread just keeps sucking more and more people in!

Basic point still stands, though. Get off the Internet and go shooting!
