9X19 load similar to 4.2 Bullseye 200 lswc

My shooting is all recreational target. I've grown to like Bullseye 4.2 gr and Lasercast 200g lswc for my 1911-.45's. It's fairly soft shooting and accurate.

I'm setting up to do 9mm since I can't find loaded ammo. I'd like to find a combination similar in performance to the .45acp load above.

I'd like to get your recommendations.

4.2g BE under a 200g 45ACP LSWC should give you about 700fps out of a 5" barrel. That's a power factor (PF) of 140. A 120g 9mm bullet would need 1166 fps for the same PF. You would need 4.5-4.7g BE to get that velocity out of a 4.25" barrel gun.

I typically shoot close to that PF out of my M&P9 with 5g Unique (although usually I'm down about 100fps because I seat the bullet deeper for reliable chambering in the M&P and only use 4.2g Unique).

Mind you that unless you are shooting a 1911 chambered for 9mm, the recoil will be a little different especially if you use a plastic gun. I've found that I can get almost the exact same feeling of my 9mm loads when downloading 180g 40 S&W (same gun, just different barrel and mag) with 3.0g Clays.

Of course, you should check that load with a loading manual and start low/work up.

You can shoot a 125 grain SWC with 3.4 grains of titegroup. Soft shooting, accurate load. Shoots awesome out of my g19 with Wilson barrel.

With the right bullet and OAL, you can use the same 4.2 grains of BE that you use for .45 ACP and not have to mess with the powder measure. I don't know what that bullet weight is (I know what I use, but it's a +P load) but it'll be somewhere around 115 to 125 grains.
