I have a chance to buy one or the other of two used Loaded Springfield Armory 1911's. Both full size.
One is LNIB, with all papers and 2 mags. The other has some good honest holster wear on it, but only one mag and no box or anything else. The LNIB is slightly more expensive.
I could purchase either one for a decent price, but I'm leaning toward the worn pistol. My reasoning is this: Someone actually CARRIED the worn pistol. I'm afraid the LNIB might be a returned 'problem' pistol.

I've experienced some reliability issurs with 1911 pistols before, but I believe somewhere there's a great 1911 with my name on it.

What do YOU think?

Magazines don't cost that much, so you can take it out of the equation. Some quality Wilson's or McCormicks cost more, but you didn't say it was either.
The one with more holster wear may not have been shot much either. People are funny. It may have only been some FMJ ball ammo and won't feed hollowpoints.
The one in newer condition may have been bought, had some boxes run through it, and returned for the next new thing. People do that too - a rather expensive "rental".

The worn one could have also develops some problems. Read enough posts and you will see many think nothing of dumping off a problem gun.

For about the same price, I'd get the Like-New pistol. It's more or less a known quantity.

The other one just is too much of a question mark to me. Just MHO. :)
