A blast from the past... I forgot about this arrangement.

My FFL is always getting cool stuff in. Along with a couple of old rifles he had a SIG made, Browning branded BDA .45 ACP that was in amazing shape.

Having just plunked down $$$ recently on a disappointing S&W Model 14 (I found a barrel bulge that wasn’t disclosed by the seller!) and a Glock 44 .22, I didn’t even ask if the Browning was for sale.

The BDA was basically a nicely finished P-220 with the European heel magazine release. Other than the grips, it was pure SIG. My favorite thing is the “SIG-Sauer System” roll mark on the side .

Ahh, memories ;).

Stay safe.

They are great pistols; I picked one up in San Diego at a shop in 1991, sold it a few years ago up here for a price I'd be embarrassed to admit... I stupidly let the heel mag-release get to me and couldn't see the finer points of the pistol.

That one looks to be in fine shape, indeed. Didn't buy it, eh?

Nice guns but the heel release is obsolete by modern standards. Significantly slower reload than a Glock or modern P226 series platform.

I had one when they first came out. The gun was amazing! Super reliable, little in the way of felt recoil, smooth trigger in both SA and DA, and accurate beyond belief! Me and a buddy of mine use to take turns shooting it against a Gold Cup and using match ammo the BDA had no problem keeping up with the Gold Cup, even with the BDA's fixed rear sight! I also took it along when taking beginner shooters to the range once they were ready to move up to a centerfire pistol, it was that easy to shoot really well with it!

Foolishly I traded it away some years ago, and even more foolish than that was that I didn't buy the 9mm. and .38 Super models when they were going for clearance prices because they sat on dealer's shelves for so long!

That looks like a 4473 on the counter there. When do you take delivery?
I wish it was coming home!

I was actually buying a blue label Glock 44 .22 that they received for me... which is why I didn’t even ask about the BDA ;).

Stay safe.

You will find that the magazines run $35 to $45 each [sadface]

The SIG forums will have detailed ways to look up the various hidden codes that will reveal the date of manufacture for the pistol (which is kind of cool to go look up).

Still, very nice shooters; fit nicely in the hand, and pleasant at the range. Congratulations.
