HA! thats awesome. I've known K-9 cops that trust their dogs with their lives. One told me he let his dog loose on an armed suspect and the suspect gave up immediately. When the cop asked why he gave up so easily, he said "I could have shot you, but the dog still would have gotten me. If I shot the dog, you would've shot me. It was lose-lose."

Notice the counter on the video starts at 00:00:00:00 . . .

Notice the guy's arm seems to be unusually thick . . .

Notice the guy reaches way over the counter with his pistol -- like completely leaning over it -- pretty much like anybody would . . .

. . . so, is it possible that this is a training exercise?
 
that was great until the guy behind the counter volunteered the dog to go after the BG, instead of stepping up.

Dog = plus 1
Robber = minus 1
Guy who let dog do work = b****

Back in IL, where I grew up, a friend of mine's dad trained police dogs. Once they were put to guarding, any quick movement would get you bitten. Since I am on dialup, I refuse to attempt to watch the video, but after seeing some of the dogs in training at my friends house I fully believe that the dog could be latched on before a gun was drawn. A dogs reflexes are probably twice as fast a persons, so while we are still jumping, the dog has already moved onto dealing with the threat.

Yes, but . . .

The dog was on the other side of a counter and off to one side. The "bad guy" had to stick his arm completely over the counter for the dog to jump up and get it.

If there is any one single thing that makes me doubt the veracity of this video it's the "reaching way over the counter" thing.
 
Helping the dog over the counter is classic. Perhaps the owner felt the dog was entitled to a little bit of fun.
 
Looks like that was planned, the robber has protection on his arm, and he litterally GAVE his arm to the dog.
It's a nice video, but I really think it's a training exercise. :scrutiny:
