Here's a couple of top notch autoloaders...

Thanks for totally ruining my week. I made it till today without the slightest twinge of lust. Well, you can kiss that goodby!

Note how little interest in quality these days by the number of hit's on this thread and figure out why the factories don't make beauties like these anymore for the american consumer!

I have a 1933 Woodsman that I wouldn't trade for any gun turned out today. Made when my father was barely a teen, she's not a debutante any more, worn around the edges, sure, but I'd rather dance with her than any girl at the ball. I've even taken her to meet my mom, still with us, thank God. Mom, 88 years young, hates guns to this day, one of the things she and my father always disagreed on; she sort of likes this old Colt of mine, though.

Sure I've got newer Colts and Smiths, even one of those new-fangled Glocks, a brace of CZs, a Beretta and Beretta clone, a couple of Walthers, but I'd get rid of any of them for money. I'll keep the Woodsman, however, thank you very kindly.

I have 4 other Woodsmans - those are the two I shoot regularly. The bottom one is my regular plinker. It's rock solid. The top one I've had a few issues with, but it's seen a lot more rounds through it. Have to keep it cleaned out or it will have the occasional FTF, and last week at the range, the rear sight came loose.

Here's one I DON'T shoot...

Is the bottom a Woodsman Target?

Actually it's called a "Sport Model" The standard target model would have a 6 or 6.5" round barrel I think.

The sights on it are as good as the ones on the Match Targets, or IMO, better because the Match Target one came loose on me the other day.

I also have the same Match Target gun with a 6" barrel too. The one pictured is a 4.5" barrel.

I also have a pair of 3rd generation Woodsman but mine are the 6 inch Target and 6 inch Match Target. I have been looking for some nice 4 inchers and yours are top notch but I have to admit I do like shooting the 6 inchers. Like you my Target is the work horse and she's fully capable for the job.

Ive Always Love the Woodsman series And The target Match! Really drives me wild I wish I bought one in the 1970s or so now they are outta sight price wise but I did get my hand on a coupla Diamond backs 22 LR &38 Special so I can get by for a while!

My Woodsman was made in '38 and has an aftermarket Micro rear sight. I've never deigned to shoot it from a rest, but from a modified Weaver hold, it puts Wal-Mart bulk packs into 1 3/4" for 10 shots.
