Pics of a few sets I did this weekend in exotic woods. I won't post them all (unless there's interest) but these are a few of my favorites. Most were for orders, but a couple were just for me.
First set is in Spalted Tamarind grips031708splttamarind.jpg

Here's a set done in Bubinga with a Wenge diagonal piece. Pretty cool. grips031708bubwenSO.jpg

Okay, it's not "exotic", but it sure is beautiful - Maple Burl. Gorgeous wood! grips031708mapleburl.jpg

This set is in Black and white Ebony. Another unusual and beautiful wood. grips031708blkwhtebony.jpg

One more and that's it for now.
This set is in Officers size and is done in Amboyna Burl.
Hope you all enjoy the beauty of the woods!

Thanks guys! I appreciate the kind words. I make custom grips so anything is possible.
Here's a couple more pics of some cool woods:
crosscut Marblewood

Beeswing Narra. Beautiful "rolled" graining that just moves in the light. A great and gorgeous wood! gripsbeeswingnarra.jpg

All are natural color. I don't think that even if I tried, I could improve ont eh beauty of nature. I never stain anything. :)

Nice grips! How do you stabilize the softer/brittle woods like the spalted tamarind?

I use a wood hardener. Most of the Tamarind is solid, but some of it can get a little "punky". A dip in the hardener firms it right up and makes it solid. You can also use CA glue for this if you prefer, but it's more expensive and hard on your eyes (if you've tried it, you know what I mean) to do it that way.

There are so many beautiful woods around the world. It's really unbelievable as far as the variety of grains, colors and textures. All of them are beautiful.
Eye candy. ;) The kind that doesn't get us married or attached types into trouble (unless you stop by the gun store on the way home :D).
