I have a OM Blackhawk and I am thinking of sending it to Ruger for a reblue job has anyone had it done and what was the job like?
#2 It has not had the conversion done on it and I want it to stay that way Will Ruger do the reblue job and not the conversion? or do I need to try to find someone else I can trust todo the job.
Any input or ideas would help you guys are the greatest!!!!!!!!!! Thanks

I am not 100% sure, but I think any OM Blackhawk sent to Ruger for any reason will come back with the Transfer bar safety kit installed and the old parts in a baggy.

Not to say you can't put the old parts back in, as long as you really do get them back.

Here is the exact wording of the recall notice.

Ruger will absolutely not ship an Old Model back to its owner without doing the transfer bar retrofit. They also may or may not return the old parts. Your best bet would be to remove those parts before sending it in, then reinstall them upon its return. You'll be glad you kept the old parts because the retrofit transfer bar action is gritty and nasty.

I'm also of the opinion as others have already posted that Ruger will convert your Old Model Blackhawk to the transfer bar safety configuration. They should return your original parts, but I can't say for sure.

If you want to forego this process, why don't you have your gun refinished by someone else? Maybe check out a few places online. For my money, fordsguns.com offers some great looking finishes, especially their Master Blue.

From Ruger's FAQ section:

What happens to the parts that you remove when the conversion kit is installed?

The parts are returned to you for collector's purposes.

Can I have my 'old model' single-action revolver serviced or order parts for it without
having the conversion kit installed?

No, in order to encourage our customers to take advantage of the free safety update, no service work will be performed on the 'old model' single-action revolvers unless the conversion kit is installed. We also will not sell parts for the revolver unless it has been converted.
