I had a first today reloading , I did not spill one grain of powder or lose a primer . I can't believe it . Did I turn a corner in my reloading skills ? LOL

I already had my dies set from the last time I loaded the same bullet , so that made it easy . I only loaded 24 rounds for my .44 mag to carry with me when muzzleloader season opens Saturday . I can hardly wait to get in the woods .

Isn't it hard to get a .44 mag round to chamber in a muzzle loader?

I bought my .44 a few years ago after I had a bear stalk me when I was walking back to my truck during the muzzleloader season . I just didn't feel good with only a muzzleloader after that . I loaded 24 hard cast WFN-GC bullets today .

I’ve never spilled a single grain of powder. Usually it’s at least 3-4 grains at a time. Dropped a few full 45-70 cases before. That’s over 50gr. Just sweep it up and put it back into the case. A little dust and maybe a few mouse turds from the barn floor never hurt anything....right?

In that man cave sized case? Betcha not!

I spill reloading trays full if anything lol.

Somehow I know the feeling of bumping the tray and find powder between all the loaded cases. Ugh!

There has been several times where ive forgot to prime (i prime on press) and put the case in the thrower and h335 pours out of the bottom of the case. I then started using a fired 45-70 case and dumping on the pan on the digital scale and trickle and when i changed a setting on the thrower i throw 2-3 charges in the 45-70 case and dump back into the hopper. well... grabbed the wrong 45-70 case without a spent primer in it and a lot of powder all over the place. Now a plastic bowl is under the thrower and gets emptied into the garden.

More than once I've neglected to shut off the powder flow on my Lee Auto Drum powder measure, prior to pulling the reservoir off the body of the measure.

That H110 flows FAST out of the open bottom.

One of these days I'll learn.
Done that before. Now i have a large sticker with an arrow that says this way closed so it reminds me to close it.

I did that the last time I was loading .44 , I left a primer out . I was trying to figure how all this powder was getting on my loading tray .

the h335 just pours through like water and some of my smaller stick powders ive noticed them in the trays and clear ammo boxes and usually save most of it.

I put cases base up in the loading block, so primers are easy to inspect. Then charge with powder, seat bullet, and into the box. No loading blocks full of cases with powder for me.

Enjoy the adventures.

"... I did not spill one grain of powder or lose a primer ...."

Please let us know in six months if this is still correct.

Wide Meplat. Or Waffled, for extra bite?:)

Really, my favorite way to waste powder is to fumble the case at the shell holder. This way I am able to coat the press with black speckles, which I am unable to leave there, halting the entire process till I clean off the ram and sweep up the powder.
It takes some effort, and is expensive, but makes great fertilizer in the lawn. It does have a tendency to "burn" container plants though. (See what I did there?:))

It's a burning bush. Celastraceae Euonymus alatus. Got it from my Great Grandmother's farm seventeen years ago.
It does ok with CFE two-twenty three, but really 'pops' with H one ten.:)

This is one reason I only reload alone. I can say I never drop a charged case. I can say I never forget to shut off my Lee powder measure before taking the reservoir off. I can say I've never tipped a charged case over when fitting it into the shell holder. I can say I've never dropped my powder measure reservoir when dumping the contents back into the powder jug. No witnesses!

We're not talking about primers now, so I can't say I've never dropped an open sleeve of primers on the floor, and spent 1 hour on my hands and knees looking for the little !#&$@s
