My friend asked me to post this. He received 6 firearms from his elderly father, and wants to know the approximate value and any other infomation about the following:

1 -- Winchester Model 290 .22 cal. (very good condition)

2 -- Harrington & Richardson Arms 44 cal. (good condition)

3 -- Savage Arms Model 24 .410 bore and .22 long rifle (good condition)

4 -- Winchester Model 60-22 Long & Long Rifle (average condition)

5 -- Ithaca Gun Co. M-66 Super Single 20 gauge 3 inch chamber (average condition)

6 -- Winchester 1897 pump action 12 gauge (good condition)

Any information on these firearms would be appreciated.

Thank you.

It is very hard to price older used gun. Prices can vary in many part of the country due to usage and demand. You might try checking gunsamerica.com and gunbroker.com to see what similar models are selling for.

I like the winchester 1897 12guage too.
Can you post some pictures maybe some other member could give you a better estimate.

The guns you list are well worth the $30.00 it will cost your friend to buy a copy of the Blue Book of Modern Gun Values.

He might be wondering for insurance reasons. I've been thinking of having the guns I inherited from my Grandad appraised for that reason. No way I would ever part with any of them.

Thanks for the info so far -- I will let him know.

If anyone even has a "ballpark" idea as to the value of any of his firearms, it would be appreciated.

Thank you.

:D :scrutiny: :D
