Years ago when my father passed away, my mother gave some of my dad's firearms to my oldest brother. One of these firearms was an army M1911A1. I talked to my brother on the phone today, and hearing how passionate I am about firearms and reloading, he decided to go ahead and give me my Dad's 1911. I have always wanted that firearm so that I can pass it down to my son eventually.

My brother says that my Dad took it to a gunsmith years ago and had it worked on and pretty much given a good tune up. He says it shoots real smooth, like no other army 45 he has ever shot. It hasn't seen a range trip in awhile.

I am so happy about the prospect of getting my first 45, but that is minor compared to the fact that it was my Dad's, and eventually it will be my oldest son's. All I had of my Dad's was his old church song book, which doesn't get used. This item will definitely get used, with the greatest of care and love involved.

Thanks brother, that is the best gift I could possibly ever get in this lifetime. I don't need fancy stuff or material wealth. Just this little something from Dad. I will definitely take good care of it and treat it with the respect that it most definitely deserves.
