ROBBERY, 3/28/2006, 4200 BLK Wilson Blvd., At 2305 hours on March 27, a male victim entered the men’s restroom at a local mall (4th floor). As he was using one of the urinals, a male exited one of the stales and placed an object against the victim’s back and pushed him forward towards the urinal. The suspect then removed the victim’s wallet and went back to the stall he had come from. The victim then fled. The suspect is described as an H/M, about 25 YOA, about 5’9, 150 lbs, black facial hair and medium complexion. LSW a white t-shirt, and dark pants.

I'm With Wolfman On This One..........

??????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????

I keep my BUG in my front pocket, and am PARANOID when using one. I've taken my hand off my 'gun' and put it on my .357 when in this position...:D

That is why I stand about three feet back, and keep both my hands on my hips :neener:

I actually keep my wallet in my front pocket. That way I don't mess up my back while sitting on it, and it is much safer. I usually have my on hand on or near my pocket anyway when I am in higher risk situations. I also started carring two wallets. One has all my cards and info, the other has the days spending cash (less then $40), a phone card, and the Rockies 2007 schedule. It is my throw down wallet. If someone holds me up, I will throw the wallet up in the air, and run away (as I do not carry any weapons, other then a knife, which I have no idea how to use in a combat situation).

Still, if the guy went back into the stall then why not leave the bathroom, call the police, and follow the guy if he comes out before police/security get there?

Another good reason is that mr thug might forgo placing an object against your head and simply drive your face right into the tile wall before parting with your wallet etc.

Went back to the stall? What, did he have a submarine?

Instead of fleeing, one would think that even if unarmed you could exit the restroom, get the attention of folks around you, summon the police, and have the perp arrested before he could exit his stall.

Well, none of us are real men because we all go sometime.

Let's see redsaber75, if this is a good reason not to use the urinal, then a carjacking is a good reason not to drive, a home invasion is a good reason not to live in a home, and a bank robbery is a good reason not to use a bank.

theken206 sort of hit the nail on the head, but didn't say it. You completely missed the lesson afforded by the event. You think it is not about using the urinal. Instead, it is about remaining situationally aware during the most mundane of activities while out and about such as in public bathrooms.

If the "perp"vert was close enough to take his wallet, he was close enough to take an elbow. I'd rather die fighting than die complying. Doubtful the fool actually pressed a firearm against him. Especially if he went back into the stall? Sure it wasn't a sewer rat? :scrutiny:

Who is in the mall at 11PM? That in itself seems kinda odd.

As usual I am sure there is much more to this story.

After playing and bouncing in a lot of dives over the years, I prefer to drain the dragon in the alley. Ya got room to move, it smells better there's less chance of stepping in something nasty.

MAIN reason I don't use urinals is I dislike the idea of urine splashing back on me ... eew.

Second reason is just this ... you're standing there doing your business with your hand on your johnson, back to the room and you're vulnerable (even if in condition yellow or orange).

Now I know who to blame everytime I have to wipe all the piss off the seat before taking a deuce :cuss:.

I didn't catch the whole 11pm thing. This must be a mall that has a theater, otherwise it should be locked down at that time of night. That just proves one of my grandmothers old sayings (not just hers), "nothing good ever happens outside of your home past 10pm".

Yeah always use a stall when you are by yourself or the place looks dodgy.

As a kid I knew a guy that got jumped in the exact same manner. They busted his face in the tile wall and ended up falling face down on the floor in to the urinal itself.

Plus if you have to adjust things like your gun, knife, belt etc you aren't showing it to everyone.
