Finally got the LR 308 set up with an appropriate scope---
I would have gone with the obligatory NightForce, but they cost more than the rifle and the top turret sticks up so high, I figured I'd knock the thing off walking through a doorway.
Ranging shot fired with the bore sighter setting---
Radway Green with Sierra Match Kings substituted---
Best target of the day, Sierra MKs on R-P cases---
Pasters on this target were my attempt to get FNM surplus to work in this rifle.
I'd say 5/8" is pretty close to the 1/2 MOA capability advertised for this rifle---I only wish I were always capable myself.
Most aggravating target of the day, straight Radway Green FMJ---
I am an unreliable and twitchy component and that's for sure.
Bought the DPMS partly based on comment by a leather-strait-jacket High Power guy who disparaged the rifle because he "needed" a rifle capable of 1/4MOA and 1/2 just wasn't quite good enough.
When my heart quits beating and I can hold 1/4MOA, maybe I'll switch over.
