A grungy holster

Not sure where this should go, so Mods, move if appropriate.

I just purchased a nice nickel (Pre Mod 37) Chiefs Special on a FTF. It came with a Bianchi leather holster. My problem is the holster. I like it and would like to use it, but it looks like it may have been purchased for the gun in 1957 and carried ever since. The holster is in good physical condition, but LOOKs like was carried since 1957. Is there anyway to clean/restore/recondition it?

If it is black I have in the past used Kiwi liquid polish to make a holster/belt look almost like new with little wearing off/smudging. Or you could get leather die and die it a solid color of your choice.

I'd leave it as long as it fits the gun well. In time if you actually use a holster daily it will look like that sooner rather than later.
