A Gun you sorta want but never buy

Like others, I have a long list.

If I had to really narrow it down, and pick what I've always thought was cool, but manage to keep acquiring other guns instead...

The first one, period, is a .357 Desert Eagle.

However, since we're in the Rifle pages...

A .50 BMG, notably an M82A1.

Wow, where to start?
An FN FAL-too cool, too expensive, not another caliber....but I WANT one.
Winchester 1895 rifle, beautiful, expensive...
Custom Browning hipower, beautiful, expensive....
Browning superposed 12g, beautiful, expensive, probably overkill for the 4 rounds of trap I shoot a year...
The common theme?
I guess I like things that are beautiful and expensive.
It never comes together, though, with the gun, the money, and the desire all at the same time.

I sorta want a big bore lever action, 444 or 45-70....... but I'll probably never buy one.

Winchester 70 Super Express in 375 H&H...

I've come real close to buying one...

twice.

An FN FAL would be way to cool... and a .50 bmg... would be a never happen though

Sharps 45 70, I don't want to buy one because I told somebody once that once I get a sharps 45/70 I'll have all the guns I want.

Not entirely true, I've wanted and bought many guns since buying my Sharps. They're all kind of red headed step children since getting the Sharps, though :D

For me it's probably a Ruger #1. I really want one and think they're one of the most beautiful rifles out there, but since I already own a Sharps in 45-70, a Stevens Favorite in .22LR, and am gathering parts for a Martini-Henry build in 38-55 I think I'm pretty well covered in falling block rifles.

Anything where the ammo is not readily sourceable.. something along the lines of a 6 PPC or 6 XTC

Barrett M-82 in .50 BMG. Such a sweet weapon, but I can't justify the cost.

"Realistically obtainable" ruins it for me, as I'm broke. I've had an AR45 lower for a year and a half that I still haven't got a stock and upper for.

However, topping my list of stuff to buy would be a M1A scout. I have no real "use" for it, but would like to have one.

A Marlin Camp 9 is probably the top. Most PCC's would qualify, PC9, Camp 45, Hi-Point, even the M1 Carbine. All would be fun, but there's little practical value, so they never climb very high on the list.

Something in 45/70 is also on the list...somewhere. Probably below the PCCs.

Ruger GP100---every time I get over how big they are--the price goes up.

Then they go and mess with the grips---ok, I can change those.

The only one I'm interested in is the 4'' stainless--I have the money and they're unavailable.

Find one--and the price goes up.

This has been going on for 20 years.
