A heartfelt thank you for converting me to reloading

Just a note to say thanks for making me a reloading convert. I still believe time is money and agree with those who don't reload because that is not where they want to spend their time. In fact, that was my reasoning for not reloading. While we may not get paid for our spare time, It has significant value and one should invest their spare time in what makes them happy.

Disclaimers aside, I did the math and decided I should try reloading, even though I always bought ammo in lots of 1000+ to save money. Picked up a used 550b in July and found I really enjoy this activity. Bought a second 550b last month and instead of buying ammo in bulk, I have been buying primers, powder, and bullets in bulk the last several months because it is the most cost effective (bought before the hoarding craze).

I now have enough supplies to load 5k to 10k in every caliber I shoot (9mm, 45acp, 10mm, .357, and .44) for a cost significantly lower than buying ammo. I've found a new hobby I really enjoy, and was fortunate enough to time it just right

I have reloading to be a great hobby for over 35 years. I have to say that I've enjoyed it even more the last several years after buying 2 progressive presses.

I think back to when I didn't reload and all the brass I just left at the range. Man what a waste of my money. Started reloading a few years ago and haven't bought box ammo for my revolver since then. I just love the options of loadings just looking at load books, and after using the same brass over and over you really do start to save a lot of money.

I fondly remember the days when all I had to do was pick up a box of ammo at the store on the way to the range.

I suppose even those guys who don't reload fondly remember the days when you could buy ammo at the store.

For me, reload to shoot is on the verge of becoming shoot to get my cases emptied so I can enjoy reloading them again.

^same here. only problem ive ran into recently is my lead hookup was very low this month so bullets are in low supply. Granted I have 4,000 38's and 1,000 45's, my usual range fodder is 100 38's and 100 45's a week. Im going to start seeking professional help when I find myself pulling 38's, melting them down and casting up some 45's to even my stock
