Just got through printing a banner for the front of Billy Stevens' motorhome...
And I'm winding down, and listening to the end of the last CD that was in the changer.
Dire Straits' Brothers in Arms.
I bought my first copy of this when I was in basic. We had a baby drill - we were his first platoon... He hated it... According to him, some metal band that I don't remember was the only way to go... Sigh...
The visions of equatorial conflict and mercenaries that are central to this disk really sorta gnaw at me... It's not as raw as Warren Zevon's Roland the Headless Thompson Gunner or Jungle Work, but hey... It's not meant to be.
Good music to contemplate a pile of brass by. Neck turning for the nationals...
