I got the same "personal" letter from the VP. I'm going to respond with how disappointed I am that government is not addressing the core issues of violence in our society. First, we are in the midst of a mental health crisis and you can't get a crazy any help till they kill or injure themselves or others. And secondly government should address the sadistic violence in on screen movies and video games.
Responding wont do anything. Its a do not reply address.

Your best bet is to go here: http://www.whitehouse.gov/contact-vp
And fill out the form expressing your displeasure.

DO NOT REPLY TO THIS EMAIL IT GOES NOWHERE

Concerning schools.

V.P. Biden proudly tells us that his boss advocates providing less then 1,000 security guards for public schools that apparently will only cover only a small fraction of the total, while on the other hand they push the Gun Free Zone concept that is nothing but an advertisement to those that would commit an ultimate atrocity where they can go to do it with the least risk to themselves.

I note that the other day when ask about the NRA's proposal to provide armed security for all schools, Obama retorted that "that there were too many guns in schools now." Of course this didn't include the ones that protect his daughters.

So now the White House is very upset with the NRA because they pointed this out. But then, this is a popular view held by elitists - mine yes, yours no.

+1 Old Fuff

Gun control is the belief that MY kids deserve armed protection, but not yours.

Old Fuff,
Please excuse my ranting in your thread, I'm just a bit agitated :(

Oh... By all means proceed. You, and others like you, are the reason I started the thread. I am a bit "agitated" myself.

It goes back to someone jokingly saying "we need to keep crazy people from owning guns" another asks "what is the definition of crazy?" The first person replies "anyone that would want to own one of those guns"....

We could prevent mass killings entirely if we just put the entire population in 8x8 concrete cells.
There would never be more than one person in a cell, so more than one person could never be killed at any one time.
If it saves just one life, isn't that worth it?

Old Fuff - I also got that same email.
I figured it was because I have a bit of liberal streak myself on some things and have signed a few petitions, and I've started a couple, so they have my email.
I'm not sure how I am going to respond to it yet, but maybe we should mobilize gun owners to flood the white house address provided with a million or so letters in one week. It would be a waste of a stamp, but maybe it would make a point.

We did something like that when Bush (the father) suggested an AWB. Tied up the White House phone system so bad they couldn't use it for several days. The staff begged callers to write instead. He backed down quick and avoided the subject thereafter.

I'm sure that by now Obama is up to his eyeballs in automated e-mails. Next week they'll be fighting over the debt limit, and I suspect it can't come soon enough for the president. He can't be touched, but those in his party who are up for election in '14 can.

I swear my blood boils just thinking about this administrations use of anti gun propaganda. I curse like the dad from "A Christmas Story" when I start talking about it. I hope that they get bucked on everything they propose if they keep this nonsense up. Lets hope the budget woes really weigh hard on them. Maybe the media would calm down a little more and the whole situation can be approached without emotion... That way they can see it isn't a guns fault...

I know there are some that are just anti, I am mainly talking about the ones jumping sides..

If you want to purpose a solution to a problem that does not exist You must first create the problem.
The older I get the more I appreciate my firearms, at some point I will not be able to protect myself or my loved ones, my guns help to keep the playing field equal.
Our law makers have armed protection and so should WE.
If I were a woman I would be well armed and a defender of the 2nd amendment.
