A little help with identifying the purpose of the big hole in my Kalashnikov stock

It's a modern folding stock from IZHMASH, that uses a button to release it when folded and locked.

There is a big hole above that button, and i have no idea why.
The hole is closed with a cirkular door on a spring hinge which pushes the button backwards.
There is a big spring inside the middle of the stock. It does not contact the door. I can't pull it out with my finger, i can barely reach it.
It doesn't even show up on the instruction manual.

They're all right ^^^^ most of them were shaped like a big 4 inch capsule painted olive drab and full of AK goodies for cleaning and sight adjustment.
 
Oh, i suspected something like that
I managed to get the spring out, by my finger got stuck when i tried to put it back in, i'm typing with my left hand

If you don't have the cleaning kit. Once you get your finger out of it, you could place some survival stuff in it. Water proof matches, fish line and hooks etc.
