Am I remembering correctly that A-Merc Brass isn't any good for reloading? I think that's the brass that was discussed here and was considered junk. I have a little over 100 A-Merc .45 Auto cases that are once fired and was wondering if I should bother to reload them at all or just throw them in the recycle bin. My son shot them himself so I know they are really only once fired. We bought the ammo for $12.49 a box Factory new, not reloads, although it's an off name.

I have not tried reloading brass with the A-merc head stamp from; http://www.a-merc.com/ I have heard its no good, and when I find it it goes in the recycle bin. I do not want to chance wasting time and $ on poor components. The search feature should bring up some interesting comments :)

Yep, that's the ammo we bought for my son's 1911. It shot fine and was fairly accurate, well at least as accurate as Wolf ammo was.

Thanks for confirming that was the brass I was worried about...

Amerc

It may work well for initial firing but the Amerc brass is pure junk when it comes to reloading. My experience is that it will not resize well causing most of the few cartridges I tried to fail to feed and/or fail to eject.

I had some awhile back that almost every one of the cases were deformed after shooting. I picked up some here lately and most of them went through the resizing die ok. If I had a progressive press I would set them aside, because they do have a potential for jamming up the works. I run these through separately if they look ok.

They're hard to resize, their primer pockets are irregular, and in general they're dimensionally junk.

Not worth the effort to reuse or the cost of the primer/powder/bullet.

Toss 'em.

I load anything. Only had (one) A-Merc case that was unreloadable. Primer flash hole was so far off center the decapper wouldn't go through it. Otherwise, it's not the nicest surface finished brass but it shoots. Look at it this way: It went through your gun once OK didn't it?

If anyone wants to send me their A-MERC I will take it!
