Apologies if this has been posted previously (I couldn't find it with the search function), but I just read Jeff Snyder's A Nation of Cowards, and wow, what a terrific read. It does get a little political, but I don't think there's any question that it's very "high road."

That was a great article.

Thank you for sharing. I especially liked the section about how not defending one's life was the equivalent of suicide.
 
Wow, very cool. I read some bits to my wife too. I may have to stop on over to amazon.com soon for this one.
 
If one is not sufficiently interested in preserving their own life, assuming that they are capable of it, they shouldn't really expect anyone else's interest in preserving their life. it's interesting though that some major advocates of removing our ability to use guns to defend ourselves or our families have armed guards provided to them (Mike Bloomberg, presidents, governors, and many other mayors), or pay for them (actors, and other celebrities, Rosie O'Donnell being a prime example).

Sorry for the rant. :evil:
