What a lot to type!!

"Wise lite, there not made at Cugir they are made on 3 lines in a building at the rear of the Sadu arsenal grounds at a rate of about 50 per hour from all 3 lines, Cugir doesn't make any small arms at all but has been revamped (1999) and handles medium armored weapons ALL of the small arms that used to be made for Romanian internal armed forces are produced at the ARMS facility also located in the town of Cugir............ I have family who work in the Sadu Arsenal at the military arsenal and for the last 14 years thats where I spend a few months of every year for vacation in Bucharest. I Am one of the 4 individuals who original helped develope the program from the initial concept which led to the Production of the WUM and SAR imports (which BTW were only utilizing a very small number of reject components) As I said above this is extremally well covered over the last few years since I left Century and retired to do my own thing ya can do a google search and save me a cr@pload of typing........ But ya know over the 14 years of setting up milsurp purchases I might be mistaken about the WASR..... oh yea as of my visit last year they were still being made the same with the same components in the same quonset hut /aircraft hanger building.

Since 9/11 they have really stepped up military small arms exports this is why the UN is on em so hard,

do a search partner I did a complete breakdown awhile back of all the Romanian Arsenals and arms production etc... it was very extensive and too much to be retyping all over again... especially if your going to be advertising Wise Lite Arms in your user I.D ya really outa at least have more knowledge than simply what is engraved on a reciever AFTER it gets stateside ..... Ya know Wise lite Arms the commercial kit builders.... it just looks ........ well like ya might wanna have that research and development team do a tad bit more research friend...

Edit, BTW since ya seem to think from your comment above bout Century bein the only reason CUGIR is still in existance which demonstrates a total lack of knowledge regarding the Arsenals of Romania and the fact that they actually have a VERY extensive weapons program here is a copy/ paste from another forum of info I hadda put together for another member who actually thought RATMILL was an arsenal and had requested to know where in Romania it was located etc.... sorry if some parts don't seem to apply here I just copied the whole thing rather than tryin to type it all out etc.. Take a look at a Eropean map friend ya will discover first how big Romania is compared to the rest of the Eropean countries secondly ya might notice that they are Centrally located, used to be Yugoslavia was the ones supplying most of the elicit arms throughout Europe but after they ceased to exist Romania stepped right into the role, Century and IOR etc... actually only account for a very small portion of the small arms and other weapons produced in Romania and sold on the world market afterall that is the countries primary commodity......... I know many folks wanna envision a couple lil hobble shacks with a few peasants hammerin out AKs but its far from the case In fact Romania is a very modern country with several major universities, Education focuses around the engineering field primarily with Arsenals producing weapons and other arms scattered all over the country..... not just one lil ol' Cugir arsenal totally dependant upon Century Arms for its existance as ya'd have us believe...... Sorry......... So ya'll wanna hear bout Yugoslavian arms production next? Ya do know Zastava isn't the only arsenal there too right?

RATMIL (actually its patromil) is not an Arsenal it is the merge of Sadu and Cugir as well as all the other arsenals of Romania, that the Romanians had to pull off to apease the UN after gettin busted smuggling weapons to a very nasty terrorist we all love to hate. Cugir is no longer producing small arms, they were the sole producer of the Arms used by the Romanian military and is located up in the Beutiful Alps in the district of Alba Cugir is the City name as well , Sadu always produced the weapons sold as contract arms to other countries as well as any militant group with the $$ to pay, Sadu is located in the district of Gorj in the town of Bumbesti there are other arsenals in Romania however these are the only two that produced the AKM rifle and Cugir no longer does so its just Sadu AKA Sadar, The primary clearing house for all things Romanian is

TRANSCARPAT SPORTOURS INTERNATIONAL is the actual business branch that is responsible for all the sales of everything commercial outa Romania they are Located in Bucharest in the second district, they are the ones ya gotta deal with if ya want to order 30,000 WASRs or parts sets etc.. they also provide the instructors to train customers in the use of the Artillery or bombs they might have just bought etc... they are also who ya gotta deal with if ya wanna sell anything to the Romanian military..... These are the people who have the final say when it comes to all things being exported or imported into Romania, The address is used with all exported weapons and ammunition (this is why most think Cugir, Sadar/Sadu Ratmil etc... is located in Bucharest as thats the address used for everything that leaves Romania) they are also responsible for all the Police equipment and training for Romania....... Additional Arsenals in Romania are as follows

FILIASI located in the District of Dolj they make training devices, smoke grenades and such.

DRAGASANI located in the District of Valcea they make light/medium machine guns and ammunition

BABENI located in the district of Valcea they make specialty weapons and dispose of bad ammunition lots etc.. VERY tight security so don't plan on just dropping in there

FAGARAS located in the Brasov they make anti-tank weapons and land mines etc...

TOHAN located in the district of Brasov this is were Romanian RPGs and other such toys are made

PIROCHIM located in the district of Brasov They make gun powder as well as arial burst munitions

METROM located in the district of Brasov they make the brass for the ammunition

MIJA located in the district of Dambovita more hand grenades and reactive anti tank weapons

DRAGOMIRESTI located in the district of Dambovita in the City of Targoviste this is where all the parts that don't pass inspection go to be re-smelted down and where they dispose of bombs etc...

PLOPENI located in the district of Prahova they make really big bullets....... artillery rounds that is .....

ORASTIE located in the district of Hunedoara they make bombs and grenades as well as gun powder

ARMS located in the district of Alba in the town of Cugir this is a relativly new Arsenal which picks up where Cugir left off it is specialized in the new 5.56 x45 weapons as well as the 9 mm caliber subguns and sidearms yes the current Romania battle rifle is .223 and the issued Sidearm is a clone of the Croation sensation the rest of us know and love as the S.A XD!!

I'm kinda burned out so have probably forgot a few but that basically is all the arsenals Of Romania that I've been to, I also have contact info if anyone would care to call any up for a chat LOL Ya will need to learn to speak the language however as very few speak english.....

Since the "removal" of Ceausescu in 1989 Romania has depended heavily on weapons manufacture to pull the country out of the massive hole Ceausescu had placed Romania in during his years as dictator"

What a wealth of information! You must be a much better/faster typist than I am!
One bit of info you omitted. What does WASR stand for, I have heard more than one explanation.
Thanks for the run down of the Romanian Arms complex.
Do you still do any purchasing there?
Having read in a Romanian newspaper (some time back in the spring) that hundreds of workers were laid off from arms production I was willing to believe that they are dependent on US exports.
I am familiar with the Yugoslavian Arsenal system, but not how that translates into exports or commercial production. I would certainly like to read your breakdown/experience with that nation. Isn't there a UN imposed Arms export moratorium on Yugoslavia?

Oh, just so you know, I am the "factory representative" for Wise Lite Arms of Boyd, Texas. You are correct in your statement that I don't know all that I should and I am wanting to learn more. From what I see the entire import/export firearms business is very tricky indeed!

The export moratorium applies to Serbia as there no longer is a Yugoslavia, The tricky part is that there is no export moratorium on Croatia or Bosnia nor does it effect Macedonia........ This is why we can still get other Yugo arms besides just the battle field pickups the Croations and Bosnians collected...... that will be another thread however as this one has been jerked far enough off topic..... Matter of fact I might just sit down this next week and put together a thread on Eastern Europe there are some very intresting ins and outs of the whole area Serbia was so confident that the Union was rock solid that many of THEIR arsenals are now no longer in Serbia...... Macedonia is a good example ;)
