Exactly. We are at a point where the polarization of the two sides in America is devolving at a breakneck pace. Judicial activism is their greatest weapon. When it no longer works, they will turn to violence, as we will see on full display in Portland tomorrow.

One side supports individual freedoms and limited government. The other side wants total governmental control and suppression of all speech that disagrees with their philosophy.

The Constitution was supposed to protect individual freedoms and liberty, but it also allows for the people to choose to be limited in their freedoms and liberty by voting for and supporting representatives who want to control and suppress the masses.

A large percentage of Americans today now want to be controlled and coddled by government. So here we are.

Appointing justices to courts, any and all, that are favorable to the party in power at the time of the appointment has been going on ever since there has been a court to appoint justices to. This is nothing new. Just some Democrats trying to impress voters that they are going to do "something" to turn the tables in their favor. I find the word "justice" to be in error most of the time. A judge or justice is supposed to rule on the letter of the law. They slant their rulings to fit their political agenda. I find Democrats much guiltier of this than republicans but none are without fault.

The Supreme Court has worked fairly well. LEAVE it alone. Anything that comes from the politicians we have now will be much worse for us than what we have now. None of them, not one, is interested in making anything better for the citizens. All they are after is power and being re-elected to exercise that power.

So what happens if you kick the two oldest out and then something happens where two more need to be replaced? You suddenly have one President getting four picks. That might sound ideal if that works in our favor, but there's a 50/50 chance that it wouldn't.

The Founding Fathers were damn smart. There's no need to go mucking around trying to "improve" things that don't need to be "improved".

I was going for some jailhouse humor, I used to do prisoner transports. I took it to mean they where going to jam the hearing with people disruptive and sympathetic to their cause to sway the judges opinion.

I think that actually happened in trials for some violent antifa types to sway the court.

IIRC the antifa people got off because the victims "deserved" to get attacked

Here is your answer. 15 have served to 80 and beyond. Two into their 90's. Since 1789, 114 Justices have served.
