Lots of people knock the Taurus brand; I've had good results. I don't know if they could punch 2" groups at 75 yards, I know I CAN'T punch 2" groups at 75 yards. (Not with a pistol, anyway.)
I've owned the following Taurus handguns: PT92, PT908, PT945, PT145, 431 and 445. (The latter two were wheelguns in .44 Special, a 3" and a 2".) Two 9mms, two .45 ACPs, two .44 Specials. The 908 gave me a touch of "slide bite." I had no complaints about any of the others.
The PT945? I had it at about the same time I had a West German SIG P220, and I sold the P220 and kept the PT945 as I found the Brazilian gun easier to shoot quickly and accurately.
I've sold all of them, but that's no knock against them. I liked and trusted each of those pistols. I'd buy another one; who knows, maybe I'd FINALLY get one of the famous Taurus lemons.
All I can report is my own experience. I do think Taurus shows more imagination and innovation than any two other gun manufactories.
