Well, maybe a little bigger than "small!"

The time has come to vote on the Golden Moose Awards the Outdoor Channel hands out every SHOT Show. Essentially, it's a show popularity contest, and I'm disgustingly sucking up to you guys for your votes.

The crew and staff of SHOOTING GALLERY, including Yours Truly, would love to get a little moose. Then, we could show it to our wives, girlfriends and significant others--whom we no longer see for more than 48 hours--as a rationale for us being gone all the time. Then maybe they would actually believe we're in television as opposed to, say, dope dealers.

It would also help the Outdoor Channel rationalize fending off all those "You can't show THAT on television!" communiques they get about SG.

Plus, it would end world hunger, trigger a new season of BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER, cause Alex Baldwin to flee the country once and for all and give Michael Moore hives.

The URL to vote is:

http://www.outdoorchannel.com/gmapoll/gmaindex.cfm?sectionid=8&contestid=14, or go to the main outdoorchannel.com site and click to the voting (upper right-hand corner).

No purchase necessary to win!!!

PS: THANKS!!! Really!

Michael , not to be a turd , I like your show and want to help you out , but they want a lot of info and don't have a privacy policy listed , a disclaimer would be nice --- (all info collected is for the purpose of this contest only and will not be shared or sold). I finally stopped the telemarketer calls and most of the spam, don't wish to start them again.

Glad to help

[SS] If it will really do those latter 2 items, I'm all for it...

Keep up the good work MB

Moose awards

Michael, vote in.
I was really torn by the vote, because I really enjoy some of the other shooting shows too. Seems like there should be a separate category for your show, American Rifleman, Guns and Ammo, and other real shooting shows. They have you mixed in with the thousand "Deer Down" shows, and they are really not the same type of show. You gun show guys have done a good job of keeping it interesting. How many deer hunts can you watch before becoming bored. Keep up the good work, and thanks for the entertainment, and information.

Bane, you shameless (censored)...!

Ha! Caught you soliciting over here at the .org...!! LOL!! :D

I voted for you, but the other guys are right that is a lot of information I did not want to devulge. So I can not be held accountable if the info is not 100% correct.:neener:

Michael Bane, I voted for your show -- but I still wanna know whatever happened to American Handgunner TV -- was overseas, read in AH that you and Roy Huntington were gonna do AH TV -- came back to the states, and, alas, that show had fallen through and now you're on Shooting Gallery ... (not that I don't like the show you do now -- I do, just curious, that's all). Hey, also -- need more babes with guns on SG.

You have no IDEA how hard it is to find babes with guns...SIG LADY!!!

I mentioned to the Powers-That-Be at The Outdoor Channel that they were asking for 'way too much information on their entry forms. While they cogitate on that, do what I do when faced with forms like that...spin (although my girlfriend the attorney made me stop telling telemarketers that I was dead). I try to always use GUNTALK Tom Gresham's phone number whenever anybody asks for my home phone!!! That's only because I don't know SIG LADY's.

Am trying to balance out Season 3 in regard to competition/self-defense. We just came back from filming one of John Farnam's hardcore self-defense classes (in South Lake Tahoe, which nobody happened to mention was ON FIRE! It took me two days to stop coughing). Next week, I'm putting together an episode with Glock flashes Dave Sevigny and Juli Golowski on run-and-gun competition techniques. Then it's on to Gunsite for Urban Precision Rifle.

As I mentioned on THE OTHER LIST, I'm re-evaluating my concealed carry battery for the first time in a decade. This constant travel has proven harder on my guns than I'd imagined...mostly in terms of endless dings, drops, fill-in-the-blank. Plus, the guns get handed out for demo. I'm thinking of replacing my main carry gun, currently an STI-LS9 1911-style single action...which replaced an Officer's Model...etc., with a SIG 225. Both are 9mms...given the present state of ammo design, I don't feel undergunned with a 9mm at all. If I do *that*, I probably going to shift my whole "working gun" battery in that direction. I'm currently shootng a Para 18.9 LDA in competition, which I'll probably stick with, eventually ending up with the SIG DAK trigger system, which is a similar design to the LDAs. I figure I can beat on the SIGs with hammers.

PS: Africa...the NEXT frontier!

Jeez, I'm trying...!
