Hello folks! This being my first post, (albeit I'm a long time lurker) I thought I would present you with this great picture.

It comes from the front door of a bank in a town not far away from my hometown called Chappell Hill, Texas. I'll let the picture speak for itself. Thanks for running such a great forum.

Welcome to The High Road. Nice picture, it's refreshing to see things like that. Maybe more pictures/signs of this nature will pop up:rolleyes:

Welcome... and nice post!

We have two banks in town and one has a "no guns allowed" sign. I have convinced several people and our township to keep their accounts in the gun friendly bank. those folks account for 20-25 accounts.

Very nice! My bank has a sign that says, "No public display of weapons on this premises." The key word being public. I asked the branch manager for clarification and she said that as long as its covered up they don't care.

I could see my local bank posting that. They too carry. They know I carry, and we openly talk of firearms, etc.

Great pic. Thanks for sharing and welcome to THR!

I am certainly glad that they limited it to "lawful concealed carry" and "licensed concealed weapons!" After all, that will keep bad guys from bringing their illegally carried guns in the bank. That should make the Brady Bunch completely happy, right? It's a win-win situation for everybody! (Except the criminals) :D

Love your post. Thanks!

That's great 2 ways....
• The Bank is telling patrons "we support your rights"
• The Bank is tell potential robbers "every customer in this bank is armed to the teeth"

;)

Just a side note. That's a great little bank, I used to bank there. The bank made my first business loan to help me get started almost 25 years ago. I lived in Houston and it just became too far to drive to bank there but I sure did like it. It was operated the way banks were 50 years ago and probably still is. A shame more banks are not operated like this one, it would be a better world. The big city banks now will howl like a wounded bear if you even THINK of bringing a firearm into the bank. "Hey robbers, everyone here is UNARMED! Come on in!"

ArfinGreebly: I should have posted the other picture, but I was tired, heh. I know the guy that has been sending it around is a big gun nut so I'm not surprised it was on another forum.

rfwobbly, and medalguy: You bring up a great point, they're telling the potential hoodlums that they can't guarantee that somebody's not going to put a quick end to a robbery.

For people that don't know (almost everybody) that town is famous for the sausage factory by the same name.

Back in the day, Colt made a nice little stub barrel revolver called the "Banker's Special". Wish I had bought a few. They're worth a mint today.
