This morning I had a real honor of inviting one of my neighbors, Mr. Nat Gozansky, a 97 year old veteran of WWII who served with Merrill's Marauders to my office to take a look at my M1 Carbine. Nat had not held an M1 Carbine since the war and he was so excited to get his hands on one. He gave me a couple of pointers as well. Nat is a very modest and decent man, who while 97, always offers help to any of his neighbors even though he has his own health issues. I find him to be a real inspiration and a quintessential example of "The Greatest Generation."

I purposely left the carbine in the case so that I had a moment to grab my camera and snap a few candid pics.

Please thank him for us. He helped to save the world.

Thank you for sharing - very cool to see.

BTW - he looks like he knows his way around that rifle pretty well.

Very nice. My dad would have been 97 this year. I still have a pic of him crouching on Buna Beach in New Guinea in 1943 or '44.
