All of the MSM groups are reporting an IDF paratrooper killed the terrorist, not the student.

This is being reported because it is true. He was a reservist. But darn half the males in the country are in the reserves so the chance of that happening was pretty good.

The latest AP story on the MSN homepage has this as the 17th paragraph:

A seminary graduate who is an army officer and lives nearby rushed into the seminary with his weapon and killed the gunman, Simchon told Israel Radio.

Simchon is David Simchon, head of the seminary.

Is this a case of the media spinning it away from a private citizen killing the terrorist or a case of new and more complete info becoming available?

BTW that's the only mention I saw in the article as to how the terrorist met his 72 virgins.

As has been said, all the stories I'm hearing emphasize that he was an "off duty member of the military." That way they don't have to admit that an armed student saved the day.

What are the gun laws like in Israel? We all know how this would have played out here... These articles mentioning several armed students, the retired army guy has a rifle, etc.. I am uneducated when it comes to Israeli gun law.
