CNN doesn't seem to consider this newsworthy.

Jerusalem yeshiva student: I shot the terrorist twice in the head

By News Agencies

Tags: Jerusalem, terror

A student at the Jerusalem yeshiva where eight people were killed in a terrorist attack Thursday evening shot the gunman who opened fire inside the religious school's crowded library, neutralizing him before a soldier killed him with an automatic rifle.

Yitzhak Dadon said he climbed onto the roof of a nearby building, armed with a rifle, and waited for the gunman to emerge.

"He came out of the library spraying automatic fire ... the terrorist came to the entrance and I shot him twice in the head," he said.

Even after this was clear, the news reports insist on calling him a "security guard." In fact I remember they called him that after interviewing him on NPR.

There's rampant media bias at work here, with editors working to avoid giving any support to arguments that students in the US should be allowed to carry weapons.

which is it a pistol or a rifle? One of the other reports I read said a student hit the guy but a neighbor army officer came running and finished him off. Neither were police or official security for what is worth.

The preliminary accounts are unclear about some aspects. In some, the student is quoted as saying he used a rifle, others say it was a handgun. Some of the accounts seem to indicate his shots were minimally effective, and that the terrorist was killed by the IDF soldier very soon after.

Still, it does demonstrate the ability of armed citizens to, in concept, bring a shooting rampage to and end.

It might be best to let the facts get sorted out before we characterize the student's actions or effectiveness based on sketchy initial reports.

Screw waiting, we have an agenda to push!

My brother was at that school for 3 month he just came home for he’s best friends wedding
If he had not come home for the wadding he would have been there, he knows a lot of guy there
He’s says ever one has a gun if some one steels your gun you go to jail so everyone carries them with them
Because you live in apartments it’s hard to get a safe so the safest place for the gun is with you
Im just happy his home he could have been one of the ones that got shot
It’s not really a school it more of a church
