Old Sneaky here: With Christmas over I find myself with a meager ammount of cash left over (4>500 range) so I decided to put a dedicated Target scope ( single power not variable) on the JP Enterprises 24" upper. I'm interested in the Weaver "T" series, but as I've never owned a Weaver I'd like any comment PRO or CON. I've heard that for the money they are and excellent buy and a very good scope. I can't afford to spend $1K+ for a Leupold, Nightforce or European big buck scopes. If you have any other suggestions I'd appreciate it. THANX--SNEAKY

let me preface this by saying i am most certainly a leupold guy. i have leupolds on most of my rifles, and zeiss on the rest, except one. i got to this point by replacing scopes that broke, or were unreliable, or had bad glass w/ the aforementioned leupolds and zeiss'.

i have only found 1 bargain scope that i like for your application, and i am really impressed w/ it, and that is the bushnell 3200 10x mil-dot scope. i am really impressed w/ its repeatability, decent glass quality, and when you move the turrets a set number of clicks, the bullet impact moves the corresponding amount on the target.

don't know if its better than weaver or not, but do know i have actually found a sub-$200 scope that does its job well, and is my reccomendation for your purposes.

Uh, don't mean to get anyone uptight here but IMO stay away from the Bushnell 10x40.
I didn't care for it and wouldn't use it for anything.
For serious paper punching I'd recommend the T series from Weaver.
