For those who may not know him, Kevin Jamison <[email protected]> is Secretary/Treasure, Press Officer, a Board Member and Acting President of the Western Missouri Shooters Alliance (WMSA). He is also a practicing attorney in Kansas City, Missouri, with a general practice and concentrating in weapons and self defense. Kevin is one of the founders of WMSA and has been an activist fighting for LTC in Missouri for more than a decade.

He is a party, on behalf of WMSA, in responses to the current suit which was filed in St. Louis that is challenging LTC in Missouri on Constitutional Grounds. A list of those responses follows:

Responses to a suit filed in St. Louis:

MOTION TO INTERVENE
INTERVENOR’S PETITION
INTERVENOR’S ANSWER TO PETITION FOR PRELIMINARY INJUNCTION
PRAYER FOR HEARING ON PETITION FOR INTERVENTION

They may be viewed here: <http://www.wmsa.net/other/intervenor_petition_0310.htm>

Keven has been on the leading edge of this fight for more than 13 years and now he is right smack in the middle of it. :D He knows what he's talking about and he deserves our support.

Kevin posted this yesterday on the Web Site of the Western Missouri Shooter's Alliance (WMSA)

ACTION 10/16/2003 - From Kevin Jamison ACTION

At this point we are engaged in a constitutional struggle with people who hate us. The date of the outcome is uncertain, but in the end we will win. The lawyers involved in the case are doing all that can be expected. Even the Attorney General's office, for its own reasons, is putting up an excellent fight.

Many want to participate in this battle. There may be a time for intervention by more parties at a later time. There may well be a time for other lawsuits. Should this occur, we will put the word out. At this time we need the attention of the judicial system focused on the narrow issue presented in St. Louis. Suits against other parties are not desirable at this time; this may change.

I do not lightly ask our people to stand down, and would not do so if it were not in our best interests. A number of us have considered the broad strategy and agree that as a legal, political, and public relations strategy, this is best.

There is a need for money to fight the constitutional battle. The time spent preparing legal or political battles on side issues would best be used passing the hat, working the phones and raising money. If we loose this battle, the courts will declare ANY License to Carry system to be unconstitutional. We must bend all of our efforts to this battle.

WMSA has a legal defense fund. Send money to the WMSA post office box 11144, Kansas City MO 64119, or to my office; 6317 NE Antioch 2W, Gladstone MO 64119. Put a notation on the check that it is for the legal defense fund.

This could be the final battle, and we cannot be distracted nor disheartened.

Hate us and hate America.

And hate themselves too.

I remember Sister Mary, a sprightly nun of 98,000 years saying that "God commands us to love ourselves, and if we love ourselves, we defend ourselves."

I talked to Mr. Jamison at the GRPC. He struck me as very sane, very reasonable yet creative.

From my conversation with him and reading all I can find on the recent MO court issue, I think he's right. The fight that's on now before the state Supremes IS the final battle, adding more cases/plaintiffs/lawyers will only muddy the waters AND give the state Supremes the ability to pick and choose from among the worst of the cases coming. Y'all don't want that.

I'd follow Mr. Jamison's lead, were I in that state.

I've been hated so long:( that I'm getting a complex.

Kevin Jamison was supposed to have a debate this morning on the radio against Alvin Brooks and/or a Mr. Miller who is the attorney for the plaintiffs . Alvin Brooks declined. He is a councilmen and Mayor pro-tem in Kansas City. Mr. Miller backed out at the last minute.

also a chabce to support those that are defending our right to carry in Missouri
