here are my three colts, i'm a poorboy so i usually have to buy these on the layaway plan.
top right is a 1918mfg m1911, it was reblued a long time ago & the grips were changed out for early 1911A1 woodgrips. decent shooter & i'll find the right grips eventually.
middle left is my butchered 1918mfg 1911 british raf rework. it has had the rear sight dovetail machined for a adjustable sight & A1 style clearance cuts on the frame. the colts calibre .455 marking were also removed from the slide & the .455 eley barrel has been swaped for a 45 auto barrel. the msh was also swaped for a a1 arched housing. right now its a very good shooter & i may try to have it restored.
bottom right is a 1943 canadian lend-lease 1911a1. 1515 were made

For a ‘poor boy’ you have an impressive collection of classic Colts.

Great job and thanks for sharing!:)

Great pic's thank's.. I have two 1918 mfg. 1911's. I have a bud, that has one also.(1918 mgf) both of mine are commercial.. Yours is the first scalloped 1918mfg, that i've seen...Thanks for posting.....:)

it wasn't scalloped by colt, it was done when the gun was customized. who ever did it done a very good job. i'd like to have the gun restored but right now bill adair isn't doing any restorations that require welding & i need the scallops & the rear sight dovetail welded.

That one on the top right-- is that a flat mainspring housing, or just a trick of the light?

That flat main spring housing is correct for a 1911 (NOT A1) from 1918. The gun is from 1918. The arched main spring housing wasn't adopted until 1927.
