For this fall, I am leaving nothing to chance. Worldwide viruses, economic disaster, and massive wildfires have ravaged the country. Is it that unrealistic to expect supernatural horrors to stalk the land at this point? Though preppers have often discussed their zombie plan, the status of most lycan and vampire plans are relatively inadequate or even nonexistent! To help those who would like to be generally prepared for ALL the macabre hordes the season might portend, this is how I’ve prepared.
I tested patched roundball ballistics at my last range trip and found adequate performance from a .380 roundball loaded in a .44 seated over a cleaning patch folded twice and 35 grains of blackpowder. (~1,000 fps). Out to 7 yards, the loading is acceptably accurate.
I sourced pure silver undersized projectiles by buying 3 sets of 10 mm (.40) sterling silver ball earings with the posts cut off using wire cutters. I then loaded them the same way as the undersized lead projectiles over double folded cleaning patches. From the look of things, this loading method should have me well prepared for any revenants, witches or other assailants.
