A2 stock alternatives.

There are slip on cheek risers for the A2 stock out there. They run about $25. I had heard John Masen wasn’t making them anymore, but they weren’t the only ones making them. And frankly, I think anyone with a 3D printer could replicate the design with a better product outcome.

I'm building a target/bench ar-15 in 6arc and like to use a rifle length stock, I always liked the A2 stock, but like to see if there's something better.
I prefer the A1 stock to the A2. It uses the same buffer tube (minus the spacer). The 5/8" shorter length makes it more versatile, in regard to thick clothing or gear, or shorter arms.

The problem might be in finding A1 stocks in good condition. I don't believe they are being made any more. You can find surplus stocks, but they are likely to be cosmetically banged up. I've found that gouges and scratches can be filled with gel Super Glue, and then the stocks can be given a light sanding and a coat of flat black paint. Buttplates, trap doors, and other hardware are available as replacements.
